What do you all think of the colored pants? Do you have a favorite color this season?

I was cursed  blessed with naturally straight fine hair and lots of it! I have always had a difficult time styling my hair on my own. So how do I get those wavy locks you have seen in previous photos? Simple, remember the old crimpers back in the 80s (I mean now?). I use something similar, Yep they make the perfect solution just for that wavy effect!

There are several brands and styles of this but I bought the Bed Head Wave Artist and it works perfect for me. Plus, it takes me about 10 minutes to make my hair wavy. Super easy!!

So here you have me all natural, straight out of the shower and blown dry.

oh and don’t forget the styling product! First is Chi Iron Guard to help protect my hair from heat styling, I looove the smell of this! The other is Big Sexy Hair, Spray and Play hairspray. I use this before and after to help with my fine textured hair. It’s a light hold so it doesn’t make my hair feel or look stiff.

And the results… lovely wavy locks! I can’t believe how easy it is to achieve this look.

Here is an outfit I wore to the latest wedding I attended. It was a more “casual” event… and when I say casual I don’t mean jeans and t-shirt. But more what you would wear to church or similar gathering.

I wore a maxi dress, it’s light weight and long … so I can still bend over without showing off my goods!
Also, my Epiphanie Lyric bag, I love this bag. I can use it to stuff all my lenses and flashes in it. Works perfect for a full day of wedding fun!

Yes I am recycling this image from  last week, Toms are perfect for weddings! My feet were feeling great at the end of the day, not a blister in sight!!

So there you have it, a not so boring black and white attire for a wedding photographer!!

This is a new necklace I got over the weekend from Lucky Brand… I adore it!

My Pandora bracelet is one of my favorites. I love that I can add charms that mean something to me, plus it makes it easy for my wonderful husband to buy gifts

On the left is my Target ring, This one is big but I love how ornate and colorful it is. On the right are Lucky Brand earrings, again these are cute and fun… just not so much fun when my daughter pulls on them! OOOUCH!

Who said keys can’t be accessories! I love my camera key chain from Clickinmoms! And this sheer, lacy scarf I picked up in Nashville on a trip, is girly and perfect.

Lastly, my Crochet Toms. These are my go to shoes, they are super comfortable and cute. I even wear them while shooting weddings, since they look cute with a maxi dress or skinny pants.

There ya go! I’ll come back to the scarfs in the future. Embarrassing fact: This is one of those Wannabe moments I had recently, this was actually the very first scarf I bought that wasn’t for winter wear.

So here you have it a basic around town outfit that is easy. A simple summer top with skinny jeans and cute shoes! Oh and let’s not forget the cute earrings I picked up at Francesca’s, such a cute little boutique!

And for those photographers out there that like to see pull backs I have one for you! This was a fun side clamshell lighting setup, that create a beautiful soft light.

And a favorite from the evening with a different lighting setup. Octobox on towards right creating a nice contrast shadow! I love it!

Nutrition is a tough cookie (pun intended). I did Weight Watchers a few years ago and did well on it. It’s a great program that will teach you how to eat properly portioned balanced meals. However, it doesn’t teach you about all the chemicals you put in your body daily from all the diet foods and sugar substitutes. Becky’s class has done and is still doing the “Game On Diet.” Which is a great “diet”, I say diet but really it’s a great way to eat all the time and to make a lifestyle out of. It’s all about eating smaller portioned meals 5 times a day, which keeps your metabolism working it’s best.  Personally, I find the 5 times a day a little daunting. My crazy schedule doesn’t always allow for me to eat that many times a day, which is an excuse, I know!

I purchased an e-book the other day about quitting sugar… umm yeah I think I might be crazy! An Australian, Sarah Wilson (she must be awesome with that last name!), wrote this book “I Quit Sugar“, it’s an 8 week program to slowly detox your body of sugar. Her claims is we all eat way more than we should, I agree! I am a sugar lover, I could eat sweets all day long. She even talks about the “good” sugar… fruit. She also claims that removing sugar from our diets can actually make us nicer! Ok I’m game, I think I could do this. Might be a good challenge for myself. I can do almost anything for 8 weeks, right? I will be  starting as soon as I finish reading the book! And maybe I this will be what helps me lose those last 10 pounds that have stuck to me like ooey gooey sticky buns!
